Wait, you really thought there would not be any pictures of pets cosplaying as Pokemon on the Internet? You must be new here. We mean, it makes perfect sense why people would dress up their little furballs in pokemon costumes (as further proven by this list), whether it be for Halloween…or you know, just casual everyday buffoonery.
1- Bearded Dragon Magikarp
Named Reptar, this bearded dragon was gifted a cute Magikarp costume by his owner. The cosplay has a loose-fitting (very high fashion, we must say) to ensure comfort. We are pretty sure he could effortlessly get out of the outfit merely by wiggling out a bit.
2- Pikachu Dog
It is the perfect cosplay for a dog because, like dogs, Pikachu is the embodiment of loyalty.
One of the most popular pokemon and Ash Ketchum’s partner in crime, it makes sense why this cosplay is a popular choice for pets. In fact, you can find sellers on sites like Etsy who sell Pikachu outfits for various breeds of dogs.
3- Gyarados Cat
Here is a trained professional cat cosplayer (yes, they exist) owned by Cat Cosplay. You can find them on various social media platforms. They have quite many followers.
This happens to be just one of their cats that play dress-up for the Internet. By the sour expression on this cat’s face, you can tell it is battle-ready!
4- Magikarp Cat
Nothing more ironic than a cat dressed up as a fish. I guess it is true after all…you are what you eat.
Here we have another feline from Cat Cosplay. All their cosplays DIY-ed. They initially did it for fun. However, it was not long until a lot of people started following them. After all, who would not want to see cats dressed up in Pokemon costumes, looking done as hell?
Besides pokemon characters, you will also find cats dressed up in formal attire, winter clothes, etc.
5- Guinea Pig Pikachu And Charmander
BartholomewCubbins has a lot of pets, but these guinea pigs get special treatment through dress-ups and photos. Even though there are many rodent-inspired Pokemon, these furballs are wearing Pikachu and Charmander outfits in this picture.
According to the owner, if you want to dress up your guinea pig, avoid covering their face or they could have trouble breathing.
6- Umbreon Dog
We know this picture instantly made you worried. Fear not, her eyes may look blocked, but that is not the case because the fabric is see-through. Moreover, her jaw is left free so she can eat/drink. This is an essential point to consider when dressing up your pet.
This dog’s name is Jaguar, who is owned by the costume maker leafeon-ex.
7- Dog Ninetails
Here is another dog owned by leafeon-ex. Its name is Loki, and he has his own Facebook page.
Our favorite part about this cosplay is that the owner made it seem like a scene from Pokemon Go. Not to forget, the dog naturally looks like Ninetails in several ways. All it needed was a mane, ears, and tails to get to its final form.
8- Ivysaur Tortoise
This sleepy boy probably has the simplest cosplay out of all. Named Goro, the tortoise already looks like Ivysaur. We are pretty sure he does not even know that he is wearing a cosplay item. It seems like it is made of paper, so its weight is probably very unnoticeable.
9- Detective Pikachu Cat
We are going to end this list with yet another cat cosplay by the Cat Cosplay team. It is simple, yet recognizable. They put in a bit of extra effort and added a background to the photo, so it looks like a scene out of the film Detective Pikachu.
10- Zamazenta Shiba Inu
Meet Isabelle, an ex-show dog. She is without a doubt the goodest girl. Having show dog experience means she has the training to behave in front of huge crowds, especially when receiving affection and special treatment.
Isabelle was one of the most prominent cosplayers at the 2019 Seattle PAX West Con. Her Instagram has photos of her cosplays with people at cons, dressed up as Pokemon Trainers.
