Finally, DOTA 2 fans worldwide have a reason to be happy about it. After much waiting and speculation, Valve has finally released its new Battle Pass along with a brand new event- Nemestice.
Earlier at the start of the year, many wondered if Valve will release a new Battle Pass or not. This speculation was even heightened as Valve announced that DOTA 2: The International 10 will be conducted this year. Previously The International 10 was cancelled in the event of the Corona outbreak and pandemic. Valve declared that the collected prize pool will be added to this year’s collection and it will be used for The International: DOTA 2 Champions this year.
After the release of Supporter’s club and other small feature updates, many started to think that there will be no Battle Pass this year. Naturally, DOTA 2 fans were quite saddened about this matter. But yesterday Valve released a whole new event: Nemestice and it was accompanied by an event Battle Pass. The update came as quite a surprise and it was welcomed by fans of all levels. What was more pleasing that after much awaiting Valve finally released the Spectre Arcana with the Nemestice Battle Pass.
What is Nemestice?
Valve has released a new event for the DOTA 2 Battle Pass update. This event is supposedly happening for the first time in DOTA 2. The story of this event revolves around the two Ancients and the fall of the Mad Moon. According to the DOTA 2 lore, Zet, the Arc Warden was in charge of guarding the Mad Moon. But after the destruction of the Mad Moon the two Powerful Ancient Forces- Radiant and Dire fell to the ground and created the world of DOTA 2.
This event provides some added knowledge to that lore. It is mentioned here that after the destruction of the Mad Moon, it was not divided into two opposing types of crystals but three. The third type of power was also scattered around the space that didn’t fell to the ground until now. This third type of power is controlled by neither Radiant nor Dire stones.
Nemestice is warped remnants of the shattered Mad Moon filled with the sacrificing power of Zet that are still to be claimed by either Ancients. |
Nemestice Storm will hit the battlefield with disrupting meteor strikes- leaving smouldering fragments which if harvested can rival the power of both Ancients. |
How to play the Event game?
The event game will like a normal match of DOTA 2 with some added power boosts and skills. Winning a battle will earn the players Nemestice Battle points which can be used to level up the Battle Pass. The rules of the game are very simple:
1) Every three minute there will be a Nemestice storm at the centre of the map. This Nemestice storm will result in a giant meteor strike which will provide Nemestice Embers upon channelling. Getting hit by a meteor before its impact can be deadly.
2) Players can use the Nemesetice Embers to grant themselves Embercharge which will boost their attack damage, spell amplification and movement speed.
3) The objective of the game is to destroy all enemy towers to gain victory. The added power boosts from Embercharge can be used to any advantage. Additional features include boosted enemy towers and Nemestice Crazed creeps.
