Minecraft is more than a decade old but is still raging in the hearts of players worldwide. There are low to no chances of Minecraft’s hype dying down. It is a creative and collaborative PC game. The game is just not about 8-bit blocky stones. It is far more than that. Hence it has quickly become a staple game for players all around the world. It may sound like a monotonous and boring idea, but it can hook you up in minutes.
It is amazing how this simple game can bring you unlimited possibilities to explore. Minecraft has become far more popular in recent years. Its hype spiked around summer 2019. Multiple channels started streaming the game. Those streams pulled in an ample amount of audience than the streamers predicted.
However, it is the season of the good news of all dedicated Minecraft players. From the new mod mammoth to the announcement of Minecon 2021, it is time for celebration for Minecraft players. If you are also hyped to know more about what’s happening in Minecraft lately, keep on reading.
Mod Mammoth Now Allows Servers to Host 1000s of Players.
Minecraft took a chance to change its chatroom scenario. This is believed to affect the future of the game to a great extent. The largest of concurrent Minecraft players in one single world is just 2622. This is far from being an accomplishment. It was a messy world record where the players couldn’t do anything rather than be there.
This wasn’t what coder Jackson Roberts wanted. He was even looking for a project in 2020 during the lockdown. This gave him a push to create a colossal Minecraft server. Thus, he did! He created a massive server that could easily host thousands of Minecraft players without lagging.
Minecraft had one issue – just as soon hundreds of players came together on a single server, its performance would hit the low. This wasn’t what the coder wanted. Hence, they indulged themselves in making a server that could host thousands of players at once and called Project Mammoth.

The first attempt at this project did not go well. The players ended up not being able to see across the servers. If one server went down, the whole world of the server was inaccessible. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the end of the Mammoth project.
Learning from the first attempt, the coder set up different goals for the project. Starting from across the server visibility for players to the entire world not shutting down if the server is down. They also added the goal to let all players see if they update any sign or place a block. After multiple trials, here’s what we will get –
A new version of Mammoth is built on World QL, which will contain “all permanent world changes and pass(es) real-time player information(such as location) between servers,” according to PC Gamers. Every server will keep on updating the data on World QL. It will then ask other servers questions based on the reports. For example, it will work like this if two players are near each other, and if the server of the first player reports they have moved, World QL will instantly ask what the other player is doing. In this update, not one serve is responsible for storing the world. Instead, the blocks will change by the base seed that is stored on World QL.
This will be a huge deal for those who play on anarchy servers. They can now easily host activities that include thousands of players easily. This update will go live on September 8th.
