The game will launch in March 2025, for which an announcement was made at Gamescom 2024, where Cactus is showcasing in the Home of Indies area, offering attendees an exclusive first look at the game.

Founded in 2021 by Oliver Leins and Nils Hausfeld, both alumni of Games Academy Berlin, Axon Flux focuses on creating high-quality, compact gaming experiences. The studio aims to craft shorter yet impactful adventures, prioritizing engaging gameplay over content overload. As the gaming world expands, Axon Flux remains committed to designing games that respect players’ time and money by delivering full-fledged, premium experiences.

The recently released trailer for Cactus provides a captivating look at the game’s creative gameplay and whimsical world. In this fast-paced single-player FPS, players take on the role of a resilient cactus battling a mad sun god who threatens its home planet. The mission is clear: navigate a lively desert landscape, unlock powerful abilities, and stop the sun god’s reign of chaos.

Quirky Gameplay Mechanics and Indie Aesthetics

Cactus offers inventive combat scenarios where players use the Cactus’s spiky body to shoot needles, solve puzzles, and find secret artifacts. The game’s art style, characterized by vibrant colors and imaginative designs, celebrates indie creativity and brings the whimsical game world to life.

Oliver Leins, Game Producer and Co-Founder of Axon Flux expressed excitement about the game’s release, stating, “Cactus is a true labor of love for our team.
