In a recent update from the developers of Overwatch 2, developers revealed that Credit rewards from the ongoing 2023 Anniversary event have been permanently disabled due to significant issues impacting challenges.
The decision, made by Executive Producer Jared Neuss, follows a series of inconsistencies regarding the Credits players received, prompting a temporary suspension of rewards. However, Neuss assured players that the event will continue as planned, featuring returning game modes, double XP, skins, and other cosmetics, alongside the Anniversary store, which will remain active until October 16.
To address the inconvenience caused by the disabled Credit rewards, Blizzard has announced a compensation plan. Affected players will receive 3,000 Credits as a gesture of goodwill during the first week of Season 7, commencing on October 10. This compensation aims to alleviate the frustrations caused by the Credits bug, ensuring players can continue to enjoy the game’s diverse offerings.
An update on this! We’re going to keep Credits payouts disabled for the Anniversary Challenges until the end of the event.
To make up for this, we’re granting ALL players 3,000 credits when they log into #Overwatch2 during the first week of Season 7, starting October 10. (1/2) https://t.co/X0EWbl2v7w

Issues and Blizzard’s Response
