Studio Doodal, a Korean indie game developer, wants to share the power of imagination and storytelling with avid gamers worldwide. Studio Doodal is developing a 2D Hand drawn Art Style, Precision Platformer game LAPIN. LAPIN is going early access on Steam/Xbox on November this year.
Studio Doodal strives to create story-driven games with fascinating elements and compelling background lore. LAPIN is a precision 2D platformer game about abandoned rabbits in the park. Players help ‘Liebe’ overcome the risks and dangers on their journey to find a new home with the most elaborate controls. The game allows users to meet new friends, see past episodes, and discover what new future awaits them at the end of the adventure. LAPIN consists of 6 chapters, and the estimated playtime is about 10 hours.
In addition to the main storyline, LAPIN has various story branches created through additional dialogues with fellow rabbits and new animal friends. The controls are simple, consisting only of the arrow keys and a jump key. So, the players can feel the fun of platforming as soon as they start the game.
LAPIN has many interactive objects placed throughout the game to give players a real sense of adventure. With the 60 hand-crafted additional challenges, players gain more understanding of the LAPIN universe and a sense of accomplishment.
LAPIN was developed using a hand-drawn art style, rather than pixel art, to build a fairytale-like atmospheric visual. Also, there are five cute rabbit characters.
Studio Doodal has won accolades for its graphics and content from KOCCA, Smilegate, SBA & NEOWIZ, GIGDC(Global Indie Game Development Contest) Grand Prix, 2021 MWU(Made With Unity). The developer has also been selected for Chungnam Global Game Center Government Support Project.
The developer released the LAPIN trailer on Twitter at the 2021 Tokyo Game Show, in which it participated through Xbox and exceeded 1 million views. Studio Doodal will participate in the 2022 Tokyo Game Show from September 15 to 18.
