K-pop gaming space is all set to have another cool crossover as the K-pop girl-band ITZY collaborates with the largest gaming franchise, Pokémon. The 4th gen K-pop girl band will join the new release of “Pokémon Legends: Archeus” on Nintendo Switch.
ITZY is teaming up with the gaming platform for the opening event of the launch, Pokémon Philippines announced on January 27 on their official Facebook page. With this, gamers will be able to see the collaboration after the game launch. As declared on Facebook, the game will be out on February 9.
The launch will include TikTok videos of Pokémon Legends: Arceus, featuring ITZY girls. Reportedly, the first part of the collaboration is set and dubbed already. However, the company will record the following releases in the next month.
“Pokémon Legends: Archeus” is an action-based Role Playing Game game newly released by Game Freak. Here, the game will allow users to explore the Hisui region. Additionally, the game includes different strategy battles with which users can catch Pokémon, at the same time, experience the action in the zone.
The company plans to attract new players while retaining the old loyal Pokémon hunters.
Started in 2019, ITZY was formed by JYP Entertainment and started with the release of their single album It’s Different… Its members Ryunjin, Yeji, Yuna, and Lia, expressed their feelings on the collaboration with the gaming company.
While Chaeryong cherished her childhood game with great nostalgia, Lisa also shared a throwback to her favorite character Eevee. “When I was a kid, I would also watch Pokémon in front of the TV every morning. It was my routine for the day,” Lisa added.
While speaking to the media, Yuna expressed, “I’m really happy that we decided to tie up with Pokémon. Please give me much anticipation and love for the future with my favorite Pokémon and their friends.”
Although the game is yet to be launched worldwide, K-pop lovers and gamers are showing a great response to the news. The announcement has taken it to the trends on Twitter and other social media platforms. According to insiders, the collaboration is expected to have a huge pull of users from K-pop lovers.
