The action role-playing game by miHoYo, Genshin Impact, will bring new weapons, characters, bosses, features and more in the 1.6 update. The game has undergone several updates since its release on 28 September 2020. Genshin Impact will soon get a new update in the coming weeks that will upgrade the standard of the game.
Genshin Impact 1.6 update release date
Players can watch the Genshin Impact Version 1.6 special program on the game’s official YouTube channel. In this special program, developers have announced the upcoming update’s release date along with the features and events it will be bringing.
As revealed by miHoYo, Genshin Impact 1.6 update will release on June 9 on all platforms, including PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Android, iOS, Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 5.
The servers will be taken down for maintenance for a few hours, and players will get free Primogems as compensation reward in their in-game mails. In addition to this, miHoYo has also announced three new redeem codes that can be claimed for free Primogems, Mystic Enhancement Ores, and more.

- Go to the official Genshin Impact Code Redemption website.
- Log in with your Genshin Impact account by clicking on the ‘Login’ button on the page’s top right corner.
- Select your server and then enter the Character Nickname.
- Paste the redeem code that you copied before and click on the ‘Redeem’ button.
- Open Genshin Impact and go to your in-game mail to claim your reward.
Banners and New Characters
Kazuha, the 5-star Anemo character, will arrive with the 1.6 update. The character wields a sword and lives with Beidou’s Crux Fleet. Kazuha’s stats, abilities, and even idle animations were leaked in the 1.6 beta. The leaks suggest that Kazuha and Beidou will be involved in Inazuma quests.
In addition to this, Yoimiya, a 5-star Pyro bow-user, is also rumored to arrive with the 1.6 update. However, since Kazuha will be arriving in the next update, Yoimiya will probably debut in the later version. Another five-star character, Ayaka, is also expected to appear in that game after existing in beta for months.
Apart from Yoimiya, a Klee re-run banner is more likely to appear in 1.6. It is highly possible because Genshin 1.4 and 1.5 each featured reruns of the existing five-star characters before introducing the new additions. Hence, it is expected from miHoYo to bring Kleein in Genshin Impact 1.6 update.
Genshin Impact 1.6 Leaks
The Genshin Impact 1.6 leaks have claimed to bring new additions to the game. It includes an event called “Ludi Harpastum,” along with modifications and improvements to the housing system for the players. The leaks also suggest that costumes will be brought in for Jean and Barbara. A new boss named the “Maguu Kenki” is also expected to be added to the game. Along with all these, there will also be a new series of islands for the players to explore.
The leaks also claim a dynamic challenge zone to appear in the 1.6 update. The changes will be depending on its current environment. It is most likely to be located on an island similar to Dragonspine.
