Seeing the craze of these rare digital items, South Korean Blockchain gaming, social platform Ludena Protocol has announced the inclusion of NFT assets in their roadmap update. Ludena Protocol handles the DApp Gametalktalk, a gaming social media app with over 3.5 million downloads on Playstore. The app acts as a social media platform for gamers where gaming related content is posted, along with interaction among other gamers and playing video games.
Non-fungible tokens, better known as NFT, have been a talk of the town recently. NFTs can be understood as unique items like art, videos, pictures, video game items, among many more, present on digital platforms called Blockchains. Values of these NFTs can go all the way up to millions of dollars. For the same reason, people are taking so much interest in them.
Release of NFT assets during the first half includes NFT decorations for “My Room,” NFT wearables for the avatars or characters of users within Ludena World Metaverse.
Foundation also remarked, “We will continue to lead the NFT market, including entering the NFT marketplace and NFT market through aggressive partnerships with global NFT partners in the future.”
After the update, users will be able to customize their in-game characters or avatars and change their profiles using NFT assets. They will also be able to have an eye on their acquired NFTs, whether purchased or won, while in-game. Playable game characters can also be customized with costumes, special weapons that are present on Ludena Protocol’s P2P gaming platform.
“Now that NFTs are becoming a mega trend in the blockchain market, we want to lead the global market by becoming Korea’s representative platform for the distribution of NFT assets based on actual demand,” said Joshua Kim, CEO of Ludena Protocol.
The introduction of NFT assets can be attributed to the recent increase in cryptocurrency and NFT among the audience. As mentioned earlier, the reason behind this sudden increase in interest is due to recent endorsements by celebrities and consequent monetary benefits through auctions.
In February this year, the musician Grimes sold around $6 million worth of tokens representing digital art on Nifty Gateway. An NFT was representing the meme animation Nyan Cat was also sold in an Internet marketplace for just under US$600,000 later in February. Jack Dorsey, the founder of Twitter, also sold an NFT representing his first tweet for over $2.5 million in March 2021.
