According to ESPN Brazil, shAy was is guilty of embezzlement and larceny. The investigation of shAy’s case was led by the Special Action Group to Combat Organized Crime (GAECO).

The team found out bank statements and tax information about the online retail business shAy, and her ex-partner ran between 2013 & 2017. GAECO unveiled that the company wasn’t able to provide customers with the promised goods or products.

Shay’s Official Statements

Antonio Carneiro, shAy’s lawyer, submitted an official statement to UOL. In the report, shAy’s lawyer claims that her father is the owner of the company. Daily Esports translated the official statement into English:

It was a company of Shayene’s ex-partner, which indirectly affected her. It was a problem of business administration, and after a questionable search and seizure, the company was unable to deliver products to some consumers.

Antonio further talked that the financial amount claimed in the lawsuit is a gross overestimation. Shay CSGO lawyer said,

“We are appealing the sentence that was absurd, and the amount claimed by consumers does not reach $50,000. In the allegations and embargoes of declaration that we attached, there is a complaint by the accused, against arbitrary acts in the search and seizure that prove that the prosecution failed to return more than 5,000 notes proving the company’s fairness.”

Alongside Antonio’s statement, Shay CSGO addressed the situation on her Instagram. She wrote,

“I am not arrested, and I will not be arrested. It is a situation in which my ex-husband has a major role to play. He is taking 100% responsibility.”

According to Brazilian law, jail is not possible for more than 30 years for a single crime. Is Shay CSGO appeal fails, she’ll only face a sentence of thirty years.
