Unlike traditional sports, esports is a domain where women can match the skills of their male counterparts. Generally, it is the physical aspect of conventional games that limit the girls from matching the guys. However, when we talk about esports, things are different. It is not the physical ability that matters for computer games but the mental strength and strategy.

Women have already made their mark in the e-gaming world. So far the records show that they are as good as male esports players. Building up on that, we have decided to bring to you the most famous and richest women eSport players in the world.

1- Sarah Lou (Sarah Harrison)

May not be one of the most famous women gamers in our list, Sarah had some great skills back in 2008. She has only managed to win one tournament – CGS 2008. Her exceptional performance in the tournament got her the first position and, with it, $50,000 as prize money.

2- Kasumi Chan (Marjorie Bartell)

Bartell is an American gamer, last seen in CGS 2007. She won $50,000 in prize money in the tournament. Other than that, she also became a runner up in 2006 in CGI tournament. This helped her bag another $5,000.

3- Ricki Ortiz

Ortiz is one of the best women esports players, both in terms of money earned and skills. She mostly plays fighting games like Street Fighter and Taken. Ricki Ortiz has taken part in over sixty tournaments and bagged a total of $80,780.

4- Mystik (Katherine Gunn)

Katherine Gunn is undoubtedly a blast from the past. She is associated with playing Dead or Alive 4 and has banked a total of $122,000 by winning and taking part in various tournaments from 2007 to 2010.

5- Scarlett – Sasha Hostyn

Standing at number one, we have Scarlett. She has earned a total of $322,000 plus, which is the highest for any women esports player in the world. The amount is almost triple to that of the second richest player on our list. So, you can imagine the skills she possesses. She made her debut in 2011 and since then has taken part in over 170 plus tournaments.

Summing Up

The number of women players in esports is still less as compared to males. However, the gap is narrowing as esports grow in popularity and more women realizing the fact that it is easier than any other traditional sports. Now, are you a girl waiting for your moment? Share with us your dreams and challenges you are facing – maybe we could help.
