Popular South Korean gaming company Pearl Abyss is all set to release a breathtaking new game – Crimson Desert. The game will feature a Fantasy Open World Adventure gameplay and is set for a winter release. According to many, this is going to be the best game of Pearl Abyss yet. Ever since the gameplay trailer was released in Game Awards last year, gamers all around the globe are anticipating its release eagerly. Pearl Abyss has left no stones unturned to make it their biggest success ever. The gameplay trailer promises a great action-adventure journey for all RPG gaming enthusiasts. Particularly the Korean gamers are highly excited for the release of this latest installment of fantasy games.

About The Game

Crimson Desert is an open-world action-adventure game that follows the journey of a mercenary by the name of MacDuff. The official gaming page suggests that this is a “Saga Written in Blood”. Also, the name Crimson Desert gives out ample hints towards the nature of Bloodshed and fierce battles that would plague the Desert in the game. Blood has turned this Desert into Crimson and hence the name of the game. The publishers revealed that Crimson Desert is going to be an Open World game that will involve original storytelling. Crimson Desert promises action-packed combat scenes, high spectacular landscapes, and great storytelling.

The game will be a Single-Player game and not an MMORPG. Pearl Abyss America CEO Jeonghee Jin has confirmed this news. The decision behind making Crimson Desert a Single-Player game is highly motivated by keeping the gaming franchise unique. The previous game in this franchise was Black Desert Online, a massive hit in the gaming market. The game followed a similar battlefield scenario and was a Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game. It had generated more than $2 billion in revenue for the franchise and Pearl Abyss doesn’t want to hinder its path with a new release. Many think the move is planned to let both the games dominate and perform separately in their domain.

What Can Be Inferred From The Trailer?

The Crimson Desert gameplay trailer was released by Pearl Abyss on the Game Awards 2020 last year on December 10. Before that, the official trailer also premiered at the Pearl Abyss Connect 2019. The gameplay trailer was mostly non-narrative but promises elaborative display and vivid landscapes. The developers have put extra effort to highlight the open world of Crimson Desert. The gameplay takes place in a medieval fantasy world that is plagued by wars and battles. The gameplay trailer promises justice to the title of the game- Crimson Desert where the continuous war ravages through the desert shedding lots of blood. The graphics are very realistic and portray medieval life at its core.

Lots of combat and fights scenes are observed in the trailer. The main protagonist MacDuff is shown riding his horse traveling places and hunting enemies and helping the commoners. The storyline follows a similar universe as Black Desert. However, the characters and places are changed in the latest game. The gameplay trailer leaves many unanswered questions due to most its non-narrative style of display. As MacDuff is shown hunting monsters and animal life, his exact mission or purpose is still a mystery. The game will emphasize Single Player storytelling. As given out on the gameplay trailer, there will be checkpoints and missions on the road for the character of MacDuff.  The vast continent of Pywel is beautifully portrayed in the gameplay trailer.

Weapons And Fighting

The main character can be seen riding a horse, traveling between states and countries as he solves the problem of the people living there. This setting refers to the medieval war-torn era where the commoners used to face brutalities from enemies and rulers alike. The everyday problems surrounding life including the daily struggle of livelihood are depicted via this gameplay. The weapons disclosed in the gameplay trailer are mostly meleed weapons. There is a great deal of sword fighting, slashing, cutting, and dashing between the characters. The fight scenes shown in the trailer are very realistic and do justice to the storyline. The fights are mostly placed in close quarters and emphasis is put on swinging of blades and attack movements. Delicate dodges and careful maneuvers are incorporated in the gameplay to give the fight scenes some more heavy touch.

The weapons gallery also includes ranged weapons like bows and arrows. In the gameplay trailer, the fighting scenes depict the growing conflict in the land of Pywel. An increasing tension among the various factions is very much vivid and unavoidable. Although there is no straightforward hint of spell casting or magic, audiences do find MacDuff riding a dragon. These do indicate possibilities of mystic powers and spells in the game. The game balances the perfect fight scenes with extensive storytelling and open-world adventures.

What Is The Objective Of The Game?

As the gameplay trailer revealed the game will primarily follow a storyline-based adventure. This will allow the user to play as the protagonist MacDuff and travel through the open world. As seen in the trailer, the open world of Pywel is divided into many factions, territories, and states, the journey will most likely cover many chapters and adventures in its path. MacDuff is a character who likes to help people and protect them. In the game, the players have to make certain choices that will accordingly shape the course of the gameplay. Since this is an open-world adventure game, all elements of traveling, hunting, struggling, and survival elements will be involved.

The most common challenge will be to reach the destination along the journey and fulfill the objectives. The character of MacDuff is required to solve the problems which the players can do by following the tasks. This may include fighting with rivals, conquering states, and appointing allies along the journey. The story reveals the purpose of MacDuff which involves restoring the balance of power and revival of the glory of that land. He is to help the oppressed claim back what is rightfully theirs. Players will be required to follow the storyline ardently and discover all possible pathways. The Crimson Desert website provides hints about the usage of weapons in the game. There will be a perfect blend of modern and primitive weapons in the gameplay. The game promises amazing fight scenes with Hyoseok Chae as its lead combat designer.

When Will The Game Be Available?

The game is speculated to be released in the winter of this year. Earlier the officials at Pearl Abyss declared 2021 as its release year. With positive reviews and responses from every aspect of the gaming world, Crimson Desert is all set to conquer the RPG world. Crimson Desert is going to be the highest-grossing title of Pearl Abyss if everything falls to pieces. The Single Player Role Playing Game is creating market-wide hype with its stunning graphics and gameplay. With the release of this game, Pearl Abyss will be able to establish themselves as market leaders not only in Korea but in the whole of Asia.

Crimson Desert promises an epic display of fighting and Open World adventure at its best. The game holds key to a vast world of mysteries and action-adventure. After a long time, a Single-Player game has managed to create such hype and uproar in the gaming market. Players across the globe are eagerly awaiting its release. Korean gaming scene will continue to flourish with the advent of such high-caliber gameplay models. It is expected to hit the PC and Consoles by the end of the year. The pricing and commercial details are not yet revealed. However, the action-adventure game is sure to turn heads on its way to a winter release. So far the game has received positive feedback from critics and fans. The adventure of Crimson Desert will soon be upon the gaming world.
