ESDigital Games has entered into a global publishing deal with Reset Games Ltd for Machine Gun Fury, a retro run-and-gun arcade military shooter built around classic pixel art action game design, gearing up for their biggest console launch yet as the game will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch, targeting all platforms on March 20, 2026.

Reset Games Ltd first introduced Machine Gun Fury to PC players on Steam in October 2022. This arcade military shooter quickly captured the hearts of fans who love the classic 1980s coin-op games like Commando, Ikari Warriors, and Green Beret, building a passionate but niche following.

Unfortunately, due to its limited availability across platforms, this retro run-and-gun game didn’t receive the attention it deserved from the wider gaming community. Fortunately, ESDigital Games, a publisher with over 25 years of experience bringing games to PC and consoles worldwide, has stepped in to change that.

What Machine Gun Fury Delivers on the Battlefield

Machine Gun Fury throws you into the action as one of three fearless soldiers: Gunner Jimbo, Suzi Uzi, or Mini-Gun Floyd. Together, you’ll charge through eight explosive regions teeming with waves of enemies and massive bosses that fill the screen.

The game embraces a retro run-and-gun style, stripping away complex mechanics and cover systems, allowing players to rely on their reflexes and shooting skills to complete each level.

But it’s not just about foot soldiers; you have the chance to jump into tanks, boats, and combat buggies, transforming the battlefield into a unique warzone each time.

The pixel art style adds a modern twist, featuring destructible environments, dynamic screen effects, and vibrant backgrounds, while retaining the charm of classic 8-bit games. The SID-inspired chiptune soundtrack adds to the excitement, giving off the nostalgic vibe of arcade cabinets at their loudest, making every moment feel intense and thrilling.

A Major PC Update Already Live on Steam

Ahead of the console launch, ESDigital Games has rolled out a major update to Machine Gun Fury on Steam, enhancing the PC experience. This patch opens up the arcade military shooter to a wider audience by adding 11 new languages, including French, Italian, German, Spanish, Russian, Portuguese, Polish, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese.

Along with the language additions, the update features a redesigned XP bar, an improved in-game font, and various bug fixes and performance enhancements.

This shows that ESDigital Games is committed to Machine Gun Fury as a long-term franchise, rather than just a fleeting product. It’s especially exciting to see localization into Japanese, Korean, and Chinese, as it allows the game to tap into regions with rich retro-gaming history and nostalgia, making it even more appealing to fans of the genre.

ESDigital Games Takes the Fight to GDC 2026

Machine Gun Fury is set to take center stage at ESDigital Games’ showcase during GDC 2026. Attendees, including journalists, developers, and potential partners, will have the exciting opportunity to get hands-on experience with this arcade-style military shooter.

In addition to this highly anticipated title, fans can look forward to exploring four other games from ESDigital’s lineup: Sky of Tides, AWAKEN – Astral Blade, Battlejuice Alchemist, Remedium, and Island of Winds. It’s shaping up to be an engaging event for everyone involved!

”We’re excited to begin this new chapter for Machine Gun Fury,” said Ilia Svanidze, Head of Marketing at ESDigital Games. “Partnering with Reset Games Ltd allows us to bring the game to new platforms, enhance the current PC version, and deliver the fury to even more players around the world.”

Why This Console Launch Could Actually Stick

In 2025, the retro video game market will have really taken off, hitting over $500 million and showing no signs of slowing down with an annual growth rate of 7-10 percent.

This revival is largely driven by nostalgia, easy access to games, and a growing desire for straightforward, mechanical gameplay. Among the most popular genres is the retro run-and-gun, with modern titles like Shovel Knight and Huntdown demonstrating that players are eager for that classic, reflex-based action. It’s the perfect time for Machine Gun Fury to make its console debut.

The Nintendo Switch, in particular, has become a haven for pixel art action games, attracting a dedicated fanbase for retro-inspired indie titles. Machine Gun Fury is set at a very affordable price of $11.99 on PC, making it an attractive option for newcomers looking to dive into the action.

This arcade military shooter is all about simplicity, quick reflexes, bold aggression, and an unwavering commitment to keep firing. With so many games today focusing on live services and expansive open worlds, something is refreshing about the straightforward appeal of retro run-and-gun gameplay: no subscriptions, no complex tutorials, just eight regions filled with nonstop action.

It seems like many players have been waiting for this kind of experience. Set to launch on March 20, Machine Gun Fury is primed to make a big splash in the pixel art action genre, finally available on the consoles where most gamers prefer to play. It’s ready to bring the heat!
