MoonMonster Studios invites players into a comedic VR adventure as a recruit at Glorpo Inc. with the Space Control VR demo, now live on Meta Quest and Steam during Steam Next Fest.
Forget the typical 9-to-5 grind. In Space Control VR, a Belgian indie studio has come up with a job offer that’s definitely out of this world—literally! Players step into a universe where they get abducted, accumulate cosmic debt, and then have to work it off for an eccentric galactic megacorporation known as Glorpo Inc.
MoonMonster Studios recently released a free demo of Space Control VR on February 23 as part of the Steam Next Fest, which runs until March 2. This gives gamers a sneak peek at the quirky experience before the full game launches on Meta Quest and Steam in early Q2 2026.
This isn’t just another VR shooter or puzzle game. Space Control VR immerses players in a colorful, cartoon-like corporate space station where they’ll navigate through three uniquely bizarre job episodes. Each task is more outlandish and entertaining than the last, promising a one-of-a-kind adventure.
Three Jobs, Zero HR Approval
In this comedic VR adventure, players dive into three wacky episodes, each featuring a unique role. First, they find themselves in the Abductorium, where they snatch unsuspecting recruits for Glorpo Inc. Next, they take on the challenge of babysitting alien infants in the Daycare. Finally, they head to the GlorpoVision Music Festival, where they whip up some “questionable space snacks” for a lively crowd of intergalactic festival-goers.
The gameplay is driven by physics, allowing players to pull, tug, throw, and bounce nearly every object in their surroundings. This creates a sandbox experience that encourages curiosity and a bit of chaos.
Adding to the fun is the player’s sarcastic wrist-mounted AI companion, Sydra, who provides a witty commentary throughout the adventure. Meanwhile, crewmates Melody, Widgett, and Zorgle each bring their own distinct personalities, evolving as the story unfolds. This approach to storytelling truly sets MoonMonster Studios apart from other VR developers.
A Cast That Commands Attention
MoonMonster Studios has assembled an exciting voice cast that’s sure to appeal to fans of animation and gaming. Leading the lineup is Amanda Hufford, recognized for her roles in The Amazing Digital Circus and Genshin Impact.
She’s joined by Sean Chiplock, known for his work in The Legend of Zelda, along with veterans Crystal Lee, Kelsey Jaffer, and Tim Heller, who have all contributed to major game franchises like Marvel Rivals.
To add even more flair, the studio also brought in popular VR content creators, including Whackycast, SmashingVR, Jordan Antle (PapaFearGaming), and Fynnpire. These creators will voice characters in Space Control VR, cleverly linking a comedic VR adventure to the vibrant YouTube VR community.
Why This Game Fits the Market Right Now
Space Control VR is launching at a time when both Meta Quest and PC VR platforms are eager for original narrative content. Analysts highlight that Meta Quest has the largest active VR user base, and indie developers who manage to get their games featured on the store often find that their revenue from Quest significantly outstrips that from Steam.
The game’s episodic, comedy-focused format really fills a void in the market. Most VR titles tend to focus on action, horror, or fitness. Glorpo Inc.’s absurd workplace comedy, inspired by shows like Rick & Morty and Futurama, specifically targets a growing VR audience that values story-driven humor over just quick reflexes.
The Steam Next Fest demo gives MoonMonster Studios rare early momentum. Free demos during Steam Next Fest have historically driven wishlists, community buzz, and press coverage well before launch — and this comedic VR adventure already features a recognizable cast, institutional funding from the Flanders Audiovisual Fund, the Creative Europe MEDIA Fund, the Flanders Game Hub, and Robot Teddy backing it.
The Clock Is Running
The Steam Next Fest demo wraps up on March 2, so make sure to check it out! If you’re into PC VR, you can currently play Space Control VR for free on Steam. The full game is set to launch on Meta Quest and Steam in early Q2 2026, with April at the earliest.
Also, Glorpo Inc. is seeking new hires. The real challenge lies in surviving the orientation!
