When talking about the best action-adventure games, you can’t miss out on God of War. Whether you love ancient mythology or not, this game will hook you in no time. It is a game franchise that was first released on the 22nd of March 2005. There are six installments of the game, and the latest will be released on the 20th of April 2022. The world of God of War is massive yet has an intimate story that unravels. It is the perfect example of the growing gaming industry.  It is playable on Play Station 2, Play Station Portable, Play Station 3, Play Station Vita, Play Station 4, Play Station 5, and Java ME.

This franchise deserves all the attention. You may even call it the best game on console, but it will merely be an understatement. No matter how many years you have played this game, it will still give you a thrill. People who are done with the whole series have their eyes glued on the upcoming God of War Ragnarök. However, you will find out some facts, tips, and tricks in today’s article. In addition, there will be some spoilers ahead for those who didn’t play this cult classic.

Facts On God of War

If you are new and just about to start with this franchise, you better be careful while reading this section. There will be some spoilers here. Let’s get started with the facts first  –

  • Ever seen a single-shot movie? Well, this game is exactly going to make you feel the same way. The camera doesn’t ever cut.
  • The initial development of the game almost cuts out Atreus.
  • Cory Barlog, director of the game, pulled out a little trick. He did not add hair on the head of Atreus. Instead, he simply wanted to mess with the whole team.
  • One of the biggest issues was the standpoint of the camera change. It made it hard to bring the playable weapon, Kratos’s blade.
  • Krato’s belt was not destined to house Mimir but a bag. So, you had to pull the head off the bag to speak to him. But, it is better the way it is now.
  • In Greek, Kratos meant strength or power.
  • During the pitch presentation of reimagining God of War, ancient Egypt was considered a setting option.
  • In planning, the lake of nine was larger than it is presented in the game. As a result, it was cut short to meet development deadlines.
  • The SIE Worldwide Studios President, Shuhei Yoshida, was perplexed after seeing God of War during its development.
  • To add a real-world feeling, the farthest you throw the ax, it takes the longest to return to you.

Effective God of War Tips and Tricks that Lets You Keep the Upper Hand

The action-adventure of the opus is a colossal world. Learning new tips will not hurt you. You can be a beginner or someone who has already been into the game. These tips will surely help you ahead in your journey in this world of ancient mythology. Without wasting another moment, let’s dive into the world of God of War –

  • Try to Use Atreus in Combat for the Best

Atreus is not here to tag along with you in your journey. He is much more than that. You can use him for combat or even find out more about the world. Get him to attack with his bow and arrow. He will not do much damage at first. But, as you start upgrading his powers, he will stun or kill monsters. He is even able to slow down or weaken the enemy.

  • Earn More Hacksilver

The player will need to collect Hacksilver to buy, craft or even upgrade the gear. You can earn it in chests or several other places. Butt, there is an easy way to earn it as well, it is by smashing everything. First, smash the vases, crates, or boxes to gain some money out of them. Then, hit the hanging buckets, ram barrels, or bodies to nick some Hacksilver. Having a high Luck stat will get you more of Hacksilver.

  • Explore Everything and Every Place

God of War may not let you roam freely, but you can always negotiate the windings or even solve some puzzle. In most cases, the path to any stuff will be pretty easy. But can you ignore nooks and crannies trying to lure you into delving into their not-so-white stories? Wandering off to these streets will lead you to puzzles. By solving these, you can lay your hand on some rewarding materials.

  • Muster Throwing Axe

Flung your Leviathan Axe in a massive or light attack. This move will help you survive in the initial stage of the game. Then, do substantial damage before closing in to finish the enemy. Even freeze some of your enemies at a place. You got to upgrade the Leviathan Axe throws, and it will reward you. Trust the Leviathan Axe to be worth the XPs you invest.

  • Arrows Will Also Help You Out

Do you know who got unlimited supplies of arrows? That’s Atreus. The arrows might take a moment to regenerate. Please press on the square to fire your enemies with arrows and hit them by throwing the Axe. Even use these arrows to distract your enemies for few moments. You can do stun damage to the enemies even if you are not that close to them.

  • Use the Ledges

Finding fights a bit too hard at the start of the game? Well, that is completely normal. You need to be aware of the environment and look out for any ledges. Later, you can use these ledges to your advantage. For example, take pushing an enemy down from a height will get them killed. This will save you the time to fight them until they are killed.

  • Upgrade the Armour You Are Going to Use

In the game, you are going to come across multiple dwarfs who sell armors or even upgrades. They will show you the upgrades, their effects, and their abilities. But, it would be best if you were careful about what you spend money on. There is a huge chance that you will get carried away. Do not waste money on things you do not need. Check on the large ‘E’; it shows if anything is already equipped.

  • Sell the Collectibles Including the Old Armour

As you progress in the game, there will be many things that you will not need. It may be things that you have collected to get the points, even them being completely useless. You can sell these for a great deal of money. Sell them at a shop, including your old gear, just when you realize you have outgrown it.

  • Swear By the Aiming Cursor

While you get ready to swing the Axe, the aiming cursor in the game makes your work easier. It tells you just what you can hit the Axe with. The cursor will change just when you pass by anything you can stick or smash with the Axe. It has another feature as well. It goes red when you come across a frozen Draugr, which is not as frozen as they seem.

  • The Bestiary Unleashes Ways to Kill the Enemy

Go to the Codex option, and you will get a Bestiary. This is where your precious buddy, Autreus, keeps track of creatures you have defeated. The more you come and go through this Bestiary, you will learn to beat the enemies and their weaknesses. Is any enemy troubling you? Check the Bestiary to find out if there is any way to defeat them.

  1. Set A Strategy for Runic Attacks

The Xps will help you to get a quick upgrade on the runic attacks. Even though they are deeply rooted in a different menu section, do not forget about them. Switch these powerful moves for distinct situations. For example, some moves may help you achieve better crowd control. In comparison, other moves will directly attack an enemy. Choose carefully if the move lessens the space with the enemy.

Concluding Thoughts

Other than this, there are other amazing tips that you will learn as you play the game. For example, if you observe the dialogue between Atreus, Kratos, and other characters, it will add to the game’s feel. It is easy not to pay attention to these dialogues, but it will build the world once you do.

God of War is a game full of possibilities. The best part is that it is not as hard to catch up as other games, yet it is still the best. There are multiple other facts about this game. They are fun and interesting.

If you are fond of action-adventure games, God of War is the right thing for you. You can not afford to miss playing it. No matter how many series get released or how many times you replay it, the game keeps you entertained. You got to give that to it! In case you have not played it yet, you need to try it out now.
