On August 15, KRAFTON will unveil the inZOI Island Getaway DLC, introducing the serene city of Cahaya at Gamescom 2025, and redefining life simulation through enhanced emotional expression and dynamic relationship systems.
KRAFTON’s upcoming DLC transforms the way players experience life simulation, promising a sweeping shift toward freedom, relaxation, and emotional depth in its highly anticipated update to the inZOI universe.
The inZOI Island Getaway DLC introduces Cahaya, a dual-island city unlike anything inZOI players have seen before. Slated for reveal during the inZOI@Cahaya livestream on August 15, this tropical escape ditches rigid structures for a leisurely approach to life simulation.
Unlike Dowon and Blissbay, Cahaya offers resort-style immersion, a self-sufficient lifestyle, and nature-infused gameplay that gives players a fresh, relaxing sandbox.
This bold redesign supports inZOI’s evolving identity, from city builder to emotional life simulator, where emotional expression and relationship systems drive storytelling and gameplay, not career paths or school calendars.
New Mechanics Deliver Emotional Realism in inZOI
The Island Getaway DLC strengthens simulation realism with enhanced emotional expression. Zoi’s behavior now shifts based on outfits, weather, and time of day. These subtle changes make gameplay more intuitive and character driven.
At the same time, relationship systems become deeper and more visual, with clear UI to help players navigate friendships, rivalries, and romance. Cahaya turns Zoi into more responsive, emotionally alive characters. This shift expands the emotional range of inZOI and offers players an environment that truly reflects their choices.
KRAFTON will unveil the inZOI Island Getaway DLC trailer during Gamescom 2025’s Opening Night Live on August 19, followed by a full hands-on showcase at its booth from August 20–24 in Cologne, Germany. Visitors can explore Cahaya’s resort island and nature island, experience the boat navigation system, and preview new customization features—from clothing to buildings.
The DLC release will follow shortly after the event, and it will remain free for all early access players. Additionally, the long-awaited macOS version of inZOI launches on August 20, expanding access for players worldwide.
A Deliberate Shift Away from Routine
KRAFTON’s design team, led by Hyungjun “Kjun” Kim, made a strategic decision to remove schools and jobs from Cahaya. Instead, players embrace farming, fishing, exploration, and discovery, redefining what a life simulation can offer.
This approach emphasizes emotional relaxation over optimization. With modding tools delayed until October to ensure polish, KRAFTON has doubled down on the quality of its content. The result is a game that feels less like work and more like a story you live.
inZOI’s new direction reimagines player engagement through emotional expression, deeper relationship systems, and location-based storytelling. Cahaya provides a compelling, escape-friendly landscape that breaks away from genre conventions. No longer just a city simulator, inZOI Island Getaway DLC offers a peaceful space where life simulation becomes emotional, emergent, and meaningful.
