Speculations are high for Ark 2 to appear at the upcoming Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase 2022. Studio Wildcard, the developer of Ark games, recently revealed that the Fjordur expansion map would be launched on Sunday, June 12, the same day as the Xbox-Bethesda Showcase event. Now, this is too coincidental to be a coincidence, reveals fans of Reddit.
It’s been two years since Ark 2, which is confirmed to be exclusive to Xbox Series X/S and PC, as mentioned by Xbox GM Aaron Greenberg, was first announced at The Game Awards 2020 to much fanfare.

A recent Reddit thread revealed that Sunday is an odd day for the release of an Ark expansion unless it has to do something with the Xbox showcase building the ground for a newer announcement over Ark 2 by aligning the date of the sandbox game Ark: Survival Evolved further map expansion with the Xbox event.
What caught fans’ eyes about the game was its stellar trailer featuring Fast and Furious star Vin Diesel. Unfortunately, not much was heard about the sequel of Ark: Survival Evolved since the unveiling of its trailer.
Ark 2 is Xbox Series X/S exclusive and Studio wildcard announced the map extension for July 12, 2022, which has got the rumor mill running for new announcements over much anticipated Ark 2. Ark is getting a map extension on the weekend, coinciding with the Xbox showcase event for the first time. Earlier, most extensions were either released on Tuesday or a Thursday.
The Event
The Xbox and Bethesda Showcase event that will air on June 12, 2022, is being voted the biggest gaming event of the year. The event, which will stream on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, has shot to prominence since the E3 2022 cancellation was announced.
Gamers anticipate that games like Forza Motorsport, Everwild and Contraband, and other games might appear at the event. Ark 2 also might appear, and there are high chances that it can be linked to the Ark Fjordur extension allowing the sequel to appear with panache during the event.

Games like Starfield and Redfall are already being delayed, making late 2022 relatively dry for Xbox exclusive game launches. Hence, fans anticipate that a new announcement over Ark 2 might mitigate this gap with a fixed launch date later this year.
Meanwhile, Ark 2, to date, is all about a flashy CG trailer with Vin Diesel stealing the show. It is yet to get concrete gameplay. Hopefully, Microsoft will leverage the 90 minutes long and exciting Xbox and Bethesda Game Showcase event to make an exciting announcement on Ark 2.
