Mafia: The Old Country will officially launch in Korea on August 8. Pre-orders for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of this crime game set in early 20th-century Sicily opened on June 27 for Korean gamers and global fans of the Mafia franchise.
Hangar 13’s Mafia: The Old Country pushes the franchise into a new era, introducing players to Enzo Favara, a young man rising through the ranks of the Torrisi family in rugged 1900s Sicily. As the fourth main installment, this prequel enriches the Mafia saga by diving deep into its roots with a fully Korean-localized release.
Unlike previous entries, this title uses Unreal Engine 5, bringing Sicily to life with cinematic detail. From countryside sulfur mines to the ornate opera houses of San Celeste, players experience gritty environments in immersive, high-definition graphics.
Action-Packed Experience Built for Next-Gen Consoles
Every gameplay moment reflects the brutality and beauty of life in the Mafia. Players can engage in intense knife duels, stealth missions, horseback chases, and period-authentic shootouts. By focusing on a linear narrative, the game delivers sharp storytelling and fluid pacing.
Transitions between cinematics and gameplay feel seamless, thanks to Hangar 13’s mastery of performance capture and design. Korean players, in particular, will appreciate the fully localized voice and text, which adds to the emotional weight of Enzo’s transformation from laborer to made man.
Available in Standard and Deluxe Editions, the game includes exclusive packs like the Soldato Pack and Padrino Bundle, which provide bonus outfits, weapons, and vehicles. Early Korean pre-orders come with special bonuses, including the Lupara charm and a customized Tesoro horse.
Digital pre-orders also unlock additional content, including the Garzia Tumulto race car when linked with a 2K account. This content enhances the gameplay with flair, adding more depth to exploration and combat.
Global Release, Local Flavor
Set for global and Korean release on August 8, the game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, with Korean-language support optimized for consoles. H2 Interactive’s local publishing confirms the region-specific availability, ensuring Korean players have access to complete localization and support.
The pre-order window opened on June 27, and H2 Interactive is managing regional logistics through its official website, providing players with access to regional bundles and updates.
With over 38 million copies sold across the series, Mafia continues to be a pillar in the crime game genre. This entry preserves the legacy while evolving it. Players new to the series can start with The Old Country. At the same time, longtime fans will appreciate the callbacks, subtle world-building, and darker tone.
The high-impact, cinematic crime game launches a new Mafia era, blending technical brilliance with deep storytelling—Mafia: The Old Country is not just a prequel; it’s a rebirth.
